Launch Boat of HMS Bounty

Modeled from scratch as part of the Captain Bligh Exhibition at the Australian National Maritime Museum.

While the final product for this Exhibition was just a video, this model still had to function in Unity so that we could use real-time green-screen compositing to get accurate placement when recording the actors, and also be able to adjust the camera position on the fly when testing on-site at the exhibition space.

92k triangles for the base model and sails. 210k triangles with all the ropes and knots included.
The complete model uses six materials, each with diffuse, metallic/smoothness, normal, and ambient occlusion textures (4096x4096).

Studio: Method (NZ)
Client: Australian National Maritime Museum

The launch boat experience can be seen in action at the 3:13 timestamp in this video.
